PARAWING FAQs

WHY IS IT CALLED A PARAWING?

Paragliders and foil kites for kitesurfing are more commonly referred to as parafoils. We use the less common terminology, parawing, for the Mailko because we feel it is perfectly descriptive of parafoil design as applied to our current wingfoiling sport.

CAN I GO UPWIND?

For sure!  One suggestion for describing the Maliko was “up-winging / down-winding”! One thing that influences how high it points is how powered-up you’re riding.  When highly powered, they’re super strong upwind (and best ridden with a harness, otherwise not needed for cross or downwind riding).

CAN I RIDE IT WITH A HARNESS?

Absolutely. The Maliko performs outstandingly with a harness, especially for combo up-winder/plus/down-winder runs. So, we’ve designed our belt to accommodate adding a sliding harness hook.  And, in the first batch of Maliko parawings, we’ve included a pair of optional webbing harness attachments.  Exact position of these is of huge effect.  As a starting point, we recommend placing one at the very front of the bar, and the other just in front of the middle bridle line connection to the bar.

CAN I USE MY SMALL WINGBOARD?

Yes! Part of the fun of being in the first wave of a new sport is that anything goes!  It's a new, blank canvas for us to paint!  Having said that, our experience has been that the smaller the board, or the slower it taxies through the water, the more powered-up you’ll want to ride (meaning, a bigger Maliko size choice). On the flip side, the more efficient the board, the smaller the Maliko size you can choose.

DOES IT FLOAT?

In many environments, the Maliko will rest on the water’s surface for a moment before beginning to sink.  If you’re in a situation where you may leave it unattended, you should consider adding flotation to your
individual riding needs.

Orders are typically processed within 1-2 business days.

What are the shipping costs?

Within the U.S.

  • Free 2 Day Expedited shipping on U.S. orders over $500.
  • $25 flat rate shipping on U.S. orders up to $500.

International Shipping

  • $60 FedEx or UPS shipping on all International orders.

How do I arrange local pick up?

At checkout, select the local pick up option, and we will email you to arrange a time and location for picking up your order.

What if I don’t see my country on the list of options?

Please contact us to inquire about shipping to a country that is not listed on our website.

How are customs and duties handled for international orders?

Pricing includes duties and VAT/taxes, as well as customs clearance. We ship international packages with electronic customs forms (if available), which expedites the customs clearance process. Packages are typically delivered within 4 to 7 business days from date of shipment.

GENERAL FAQs

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been processed, you will receive a shipping confirmation with a tracking number. Alternatively, your tracking number is viewable by logging in to your BRM account.

Can I see my order online?

Yes! Log into your account to track your orders and monitor your purchase history. 

What is your return policy?

We accept returns for 14 days from the delivery of your item. If you would like to return an item, please send us a message from the "Contact" link on our website or by replying to your order confirmation email. Please do not send a return prior to contacting us.

What is your warranty policy?

We offer a one-year warranty coverage against defects in materials or workmanship, under normal use and care, to the original purchaser. Please refer to our warranty policy (link at the bottom of the page) for
details.

How do I register my products for warranty?

For products purchased from the Boardriding Maui website, the warranty coverage is automatic. For products purchased from an authorized retailer, proof of purchase in the form of a receipt will be requested for a
warranty claim.

Can I purchase a gift card?

Yes, we now offer gift cards! It is listed as a product item in the Products section.
