BRM P1

At 4’10”, the fun of a prone board.

At 60 liters, the versatility of a mid-length.

The P1 is the first of its kind, that we're aware of, to combine both in the parawing category.

We call it a trunk board.

The P1 is a compact, lightweight, hollow-core board built for parawing riding. Its size and construction deliver responsive performance and durability.

  • Hollow-Core Shell Composite Construction
  • 4’10” x 21"
  • 60 liters
  • 3.1 kilograms (tolerance of +/- 5%)

STRAPLESS FOILING — For the greatest strength-to-weight performance, we did not include footstrap inserts in the P1. The huge reduction in swing weight from its shorter length and lighter weight can be a big adjustment in comparison to a mid-length, but once accustomed to, there’s no going back!

BOARD BAG — The P1 comes with a board bag designed for day-use. The bag is not designed for air travel.

DRAIN PLUG INSTRUCTIONS — There is a drain plug located on the deck, at the tail. Close the drain plug to the LOCK position before getting in the water. Open the drain plug to the OPEN position after getting out of the water. The drain plug should be left open any time when not in use, including; sitting on the beach, in the car, and air travel. If any water gets inside your board, remove the drain plug at the RELEASE position.

The drain plug (plus an extra) is included in the board’s packing material. To install, align the two circles labeled RELEASE.

There is an automatic air vent located on the deck, in front of the deck-pad.  Do not loosen, tighten, or remove this vent.

DESIGN HISTORY

Before founding Boardriding Maui in 2012, Greg spent ten years designing kiteboards for a leading brand. In BRM’s early years, we offered kiteboards alongside our kites. Boards are part of our history.

We are excited to introduce our first board for parawing riding. For us, the P1 represents a meaningful step forward in the parawing experience — combining performance, durability, and everyday convenience in a compact, lightweight design.

CONSTRUCTION

Hollow-core Shell Composite Construction

Weight: 3.1 KG

In every day use, and especially while traveling, with a traditional board construction — a composite skin on open-cell foam — water eventually gets in and destroys the board. Because of this, BRM stopped offering boards over ten years ago.

BRM is back with a board today thanks to advancements in hollow-core construction technology that eliminates open-cell foam and replaces a composite skin with a composite sandwich around closed-cell foam.

SHAPING

4’10” x 21” @ 60 liters

The P1’s compact size was initially a travel solution. As we spent time around the world in development of the S3 parawing, a board that fits across the back seat of a ride-share can be a game-changer!  (And a better experience at home too.)

The smaller size of the P1 encouraged us to increase the low-end effectiveness of the S3. As we progressed this, it increased the amount of conditions that favored the higher performance of a shorter board. A year ago, Greg's daily-driver was 6’ @ 90 liters. Today, that’s still in his quiver for riding at the bottom 10% of his power range. For the other 90%, the P1 has elevated the fun on the water!
